The actor and athlete Hafthor Júlíus Björnsson, best known for playing Sir Gregor Clegane in the series Game of Thrones (Game of Thrones) surpassed the 1000 years old record, which actually dates back to the Viking legends. On his back he carried the trunk of 640 kg (1410lb).
According to legend, a Viking warrior from Iceland, Ormur Stórólfsson, took an equally trunk three steps, before he broke his back. Björnsson came up with this story at this year’s competition for the strongest of the Vikings and the trunk took five steps. Without a back injury.
Apart from acting, Björnsson is known as a regular competitor “World’s Strongest Man” where he soon hopes to finally win first place and become the most powerful man in the world.
